Ron Paul Mania and Rush Holt too           1150  Views

Ron Paul is the only candidate running on the Republican ticket that I would vote for. For people who know me, that is saying a lot. That doesnt mean I love the Democratic party, it means I hate the Republican party more. When your party consists of Karl Rove, George Bush, Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld -- enough with the administration, Rudy Guliani, and other fear mongerers, its hard not to. Ron Paul is the only Republican candidate who would end the war in Iraq and the enforcement of the Patriot Act. That's the only reason why I would vote for him. People have told me that if he was running on the Democratic ticket, I would vote for him. Not true. He is a libertarian. He would limit the IRS, which would be great, since I dont pay taxes yet, but, he would also: abolish the welfare system, limit citizenship, and revise the 14th amendment. I think he is running for President a century late. He probably won't be elected as people want a more conventional President. Someone along the lines of Mitt Romney, or Hillary Clinton. That doesn't apply to me though, I do love Barack Obama. I must admit, the clips of Ron Paul on youtube sound fantastic. In order for him to be elected voters ideals and idea's of what a governments job will have to change completely. Thats impossible to do in the next couple months. Atleast he doesn't agree with Rudy Guiliani. I hate that man. He is truly scary. He is above all: a liar, and a war hoc who would most likely open another front in the War on Terror, most likely against Iran, and he would act like a complete idiot.
There is one thing I do think Ron Paul would do, he would stay true to his word. I feel like he is the type of Congressmen that actually listens to his constiuency in Texas. I decided to look at my own congressmen. I wondered to myself, what the hell has he done. I had seen him talk, when I was in middle school, I dont remember much. He came to talk to my school on Earth Day. I was excited. I had seen the signs up from the election, passed his office a billion times, I knew he was a democrat, and I knew that my parents voted for him, so he had to be pure awesome, right? I was young, but his speech was pure boredom. But, thats what happens when you have a Ph. D in anything. He seemed nice. Apparently he's thinking of running for Senate in 2008 for the great state of New Jersey. Rush Holt holds a BA, MS, and Ph. D in physics. I hate physics. Apparently he's pushed for each vote to count, he's a member of the New Democrat Coalition, a moderate pro-business coalition, but he is against the Iraq War, and has been a strong supporter of Representative Jack Murtha. He also says that he is for all Americans to be Health Insured. All that sounds great. I'm not endorsing him for Senate, yet. But, I do hope his legislation works, I hope my vote counts.

I will admit I haven't been following the election dribble as of yet, however, my one question about Ron Paul (being from Texas), what is his position on the death penalty. Texas will execute almost anyone and its near impossible to get a reversal.

would love to know more about what rush holt really stands for and does...he represents a heavily pharma district. so what is his record on pharma related stuff and healthcare? all talk and no action? also, what about financial services industry -especially credit card, mortgage and hedge fund meltdowns - does he have anything to say and do about that?
